My Week's Update

I was not able to visit my blog for the whole week for the very reason that i was so busy. Last saturday we picked up my parents in law at the airport. They came to visit us and spent the whole week with us. And that whole week all we did was dining out though i also do home cooking once in a while, i fixed some filipino foods that my DH asked me to make for them. I made some lumpia, deviled eggs, pancit canton, garlic rice breakfast with corned beef and onions and eggs. We also did a lot of shopping for baby stuff. They paid most of it. LOL! So pretty much we got what we need. The nursery set is complete, we got the glider, swing and so as the travel system. I am so happy! Our tax refund came just in time! Though it is so tiring to go out everyday... But anyway it only happens once cuz they live too far from us and we only get to see each other once or twice a year. They will be back again in a few months before i give birth. I just can't stop my MIL from shopping for my baby.. well what can i say it's their very first grand daughter. My husband would just tell me not to mind it. Ya right! they bought most of the baby's clothes. hehe!

I also had my glucose test done and i'll be calling the doctor's office on Monday for the result. So my next appointment will be next month again.. It's getting closer and closer and i can't wait anymore to pop this baby out! i am just so excited!

Being A Mom..

Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby .... somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother,"normal" is history.

Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct ... somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.

Somebody said being a mother is boring ..somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

Somebody said if you're a "good" mother, your child will "turn out good".... this somebody thinks a child comes with directions and a guarantee.

Somebody said "good" mothers never raise their voices ... Somebody never came out the back door just in time to see her child hit a golf ball through the neighbor's kitchen window.

Somebody said you don't need an education to be a mother... Somebody never helped a fourth grader with his math.

Somebody said you can't love the second child as much as you love the first ... somebody doesn't have two children.

Somebody said a mother can find all the answers to her child-rearing questions in the books.... somebody never had a child stuff beans up his nose or in his ears.

Somebody said the hardest part of being a mother is labor and delivery....somebody never watched her "baby" get on the bus for the first day of kindergarten .. or on a plane headed for military "boot camp."

Somebody said a mother can do her job with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back ...somebody never organized seven giggling Brownies to sell cookies.

Somebody said a mother can stop worrying after her child gets married....somebody doesn't know that marriage adds a new son or daughter-in-law to a mother's heartstrings.

Somebody said a mother's job is done when her last child leaves home....somebody never had grandchildren.

Somebody said your mother knows you love her, so you don't need to tell her.... somebody isn't a mother.

Back Sleeping During Pregnancy a Problem?

Yes it is been a problem to me.. and i guess to most pregnant women. I have been having trouble sleeping at night since i went up to my second trimester. Many people says i shouldn't sleep on my back cuz it slows down my blood circulation and cuts the blood flow to my baby which causes the heartbeat of the baby to drop down. I don't want that to happen, i was so worried, i am use to sleeping on my back. So every night i feel very uncomfortable in bed. it is also uncomfortable for me to sleep on my sides. i keep on turning cuz i can't sleep. My shoulder hurts everytime. Most of the nights i stay up late cuz i am having problem with sleeping. I did a research about back sleeping during pregnancy and found the asnwers why is it bad.

Although there's no real harm in sleeping on your right side, lying on your left side is actually good for you and your baby: It improves the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta and it helps your kidneys efficiently eliminate waste products and fluids from your body. That, in turn, reduces swelling in your ankles, feet, and hands. If you train yourself to sleep on your left side early on, you'll have an easier time falling asleep when your belly is bulging later.

During the second half of pregnancy, avoid sleeping on your back, a position that puts the full weight of your uterus on your spine, back muscles, intestines, and the inferior vena cava (the vein that transports blood from your lower body to the heart). Back-sleeping can also put you at risk for backaches and hemorrhoids, inefficient digestion, and impaired breathing and circulation. Lying on your back in the second and third trimester can also cause changes in blood pressure. For some women, it can cause a drop in blood pressure that can make them feel dizzy; for others, it can cause an unwanted increase in blood pressure.

Missing My Family!!

It's been almost a week since the last time i talked and saw my family on webcam. I usually talk to them almost every night thru skype for long hours. Sometimes we spend two to three hours talking. It is very convenient and clear. I get to see them all in full screen and the best is that i dont need to spend money thru calling them on the phone anymore cuz anytime i want to see and hear them i just send a text message to my sister's phone thru yahoo messenger and in a few seconds they're online. That is how we usually do it but since my sister already went back to work in Taiwan she brought her laptop along with her. I asked her to just leave it at home but then my mom doesn't know how to operate a computer, as well as my dad. They are old and they never learned how to do modern things. So she just decided to bring it with her.

So today i have been thinking about them, wondering what is happening with them. i used to know everything. i miss talking to my niece a lot! She's three years old and we talk one on one on cam most the time. She even asked her tita to turn on the laptop cuz she wants to see me and talk to me everytime. im pretty sure she is missing me too. She tells me a lot of stories and asked me many questions while we are talking. Sometimes she would say " tita yung cam mo ayusin mo di kita makita!" i was amazed cuz she knew what a cam is. My huband missess her too! He says " i miss the makulit".

Oh well i guess back to the same old days of calling them on the phone again but this time i won't be able to talk to them as often as i want since it is very expensive to call international. And additional charge to our phone bill again.

Preggo Pics..

By now i am 6 months pregnant and i have posted before here in my blog that we are having a baby girl. Everything is happening so fast.. as if it was just yesterday when we found out we are expecting and now i can't hide the bump anymore cuz i am really huge now. I have been wanting to show it since. When i was only like 3 months i was womdering why is my belly still not showing. But now i feel like am eight months pregnant, many of my friends told me my belly is huge. They are a bit worried my baby might be too big and will give me a hard time to give birth. They all advice me to slow down and watch my eating habit now. Even my doctor told me to maintain mg weight now and wont go 130 lbs cuz by now im weighing 122 lbs. And i am only five feet tall. I am a good girl so i would listen to them, besides who would want to have a hard time giving birth to a big baby. I am hoping to have a normal delivery. So anyway just wanna share some of my preggo pics.. my photographer is my beloved husband!

Rin on the Rox!

These two talented young ladies video on you tube was shown on ellen a few weeks ago. They are both darn good and have really amazing voice! Ellen invited them to be on her show and so i really waited for them to be there. And on today's show i was so ecstatic to see these to ladies being on the show. And guess what... i searched their videos on you tube and there were like so many videos of them singing together. And oh they always sing in the bathroom! So if you watch their videos notice their background they are in the bathroom. haha! Maybe that's why Ellen got fascinated with them. One more thing that i got so amazed with was that these two young talented gals are both Filipinos. They are bestfriends, Their names are Erin Paula and Roxanne. Both based in California. They call themselves "Rin on the Rox" So if you wanna see more of their videos just type that on search in you tube. By the way here's a video of them and their guesting on Ellen today.

Bacon and Egg Fried Rice

My husband really love fried rice specially the shrimp and chicken fried rice. He would ask me to make some once in a while, He even want to put it in his egg white burrito breakfast every morning. Well that is his favorite breakfast eversince and he eat that every single morning. I used to make it without fried rice on it but eversince i tried to put some on it he would always ask for it that is why i always make fried rice, most of the time just a simple and plain garlic fried rice.

A couple days ago i can't think of anything to eat for my lunch. It was already about 1 pm and i haven't eat lunch yet. I wasn't in the mood for anything so i went to the kitchen and when i open the fridge i saw the bacon. Hmmm.... kinda crave for it. It's been a long time since i never had bacon. But i don't wanna eat it plain so i thought i am going to make fried rice and put that bacon and some eggs on it. First time ever! I also put some carrots and corn and dash it with green onions afterwards. I sprinkle it with the "AjiGinisa" seasoning which my sister sent to me on a package last December. Voila! I had a very good lunch.. So yummy!

My husband never had this kind of fried rice before, He says.. "there's no such thing like that!"

I told him well have some and tell me how is it! After eating a plateful of it He asked for more..

See? he likes it too.. I even saved some for his egg burrito for breakfast and he really like it.

Yesterday he told me... "You better make some of those fried rice again today for my burrito."

So what else can i do but to make more... since i was out of corn i used green peas instead and it's still freakin good!

Well it just take some experimentation to make a good meal sometime..
